To Whom It May Concern:
Thank you for your attention...now if you would please use it for good.

Well, like the title says, this is my submission for the Wacom "Bring Your Vision to Life" Contest. This is the way mah mind works, and it's a scary place, so you might not understand how the picture ties with the contest, therefore i will explain below if you care to bear with me?

The Earth is Good. Notice how the colours in the picture centre around her? She is our mother, our giver of life, and without her care and support and love, we would perish. :iconlovesplz: She has nurtured us, and provides us with what we need to live. However, now she must fight us. She is reluctant, for we are her children, but lately, more and more, she has been taking the initiative, and fighting back. you have all noticed the rise in natural disasters and such yes?

The dark figure represents Humanity. It is, on the whole, Evil. :noes: , representing how humanity has turned against its mother, and is now destroying her at every possible opportunity. In the picture, as in reality, humanity is winning. Notice how much bigger it is than the earth? (plus if you look close, there are a few spots where the earth has started to bleed) and doesn't seem fazed at all by the fire-stuff coming from the earth? just like reality. there are a mere 3 outcomes from this...
1)humanity will win, destroy the earth, and die
2)the earth will decide she can no longer spare humanity and kill us all (believe me, it won't be hard)
3)humanity will back off, and we will survive...i hope this happens people
if you look, you can see that in the spots where the light of the earth penetrates the cold, grey, hearless exterior of humanity, you can see colour! yes, humanity might have some good there! this is just to represent all of those pro-environmentsaving people, so my picture is accurate. I hope a time comes wehn the whole person is coloured right :)

done with the long explanation:whew:, now onto general info :D
I tried a different style with this, you can prbly tell ^^; it was done mostly in copics, only the background was on the computer, and a bit of lighting tricks...and man was that a tricky background to figure out :cries: i hope it came out nice =S
I never, ever, want to try drawing the earth again...and it didn't even come out that great :cries:
Tools
:bulletblack:Copic Markers
:bulletblue: Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0
:bulletred: Reference for Earth came from a Boston (band) concert tee :D

The overall result of the picture turned out nice and the pop dot effect in the background really helped to bring out the mood of the picture. This'll be good to add to my :+fav: collection :D. Best of luck on winning the contest.

thank you so much...to tell the truth, the majority of the time i spent working on this picture was sitting and figuring out what to do for the background...it was eventually my friend who suggested something that grew and evolved into this :D
